About Us
Who We Are
JS Consulting Engineers, PLLC (JSCE) is an engineering and consulting firm started in 2016 by co-founders Jennifer Sapochetti and John Schoenrock. In the years since, we’re proud of the company JSCE has grown into. We started with our first employee in 2017 and our staff continues to expand to include an outstanding team with over 80-years of combined knowledge and talent in the fire protection / code consulting industry. While the majority of our projects are in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, we are working throughout New England and New York, and our reach is growing.
In 2018, JSCE was certified as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and Women Owned Small Businesess (WOSB) by WBENC to date we are a certified WBE in Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia and in 2023 we became a certified DBE in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Our professional staff holds P.E. licenses in all six (6) New England states, California, New York, and Virginia.

Senior Fire Protection Engineer / Code Consultant
Alex Browning, P.E.
Alex Browning is a Licensed fire protection engineer and code consultant with over 15 years experience in the fire protection and life safety industry.
He is a graduate of WPI and has his P.E. license in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and California.
Alex specializes in the design of both fire suppression and fire alarm systems, third-party review services, and hazardous materials analysis.
When he is not at work you can usually find him on a golf course or playing beach volleyball.
Associate Principal
Ted Dow, P.E.
Ted is an Associate Principal and project manager at JSCE. He has over 20 years experience in the fire protection and life safety industry and is a licensed P.E. in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
He specializes in fire, life safety, and accessibility code consulting and is a premier certified Firestop Inspector. He is a graduate of WPI.
When he is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and reading.
Senior Fire Protection Engineer / Code Consultant
Shaine Grogan, P.E.
Shaine Grogan is a Senior Consulting Engineer at JSCE. He has over 15 years experience and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and Massachusetts. He is a graduate of WPI.
Shaine specializes in fire protection, life safety, and accessibility code consulting with local and national codes and standards. He has expertise in code consulting for healthcare occupancies, mixed-use development, high-rise buildings, research and instructional laboratories, educational facilities, residential and institutional multi-tenanted housing, and code analysis for unique structure types.
When Shaine isn’t working, he’s often spending quality time with his family or indulging in his love for the outdoors, especially fishing.
Fire Protection Engineer / Code Consultant
Morgan Hughes
Morgan Hughes is a Consulting Fire Protection Engineer and Code Consultant at JSCE. She has been working in the industry for over a year and is pursuing her EIT with the goal of earning her professional license in Fire Protection Engineering. Morgan is a graduate of WPI.
Morgan is experienced in code consulting, accessibility consulting and fire protection systems design and works closely alongside our senior staff.
Outside of work Morgan enjoys spending time with family and friends, discovering new music, and completing jigsaw puzzles.
Managing Principal
Jennifer Sapochetti, P.E.
Jennifer Sapochetti is the Managing Principal of JSCE. Along with her business partner and husband John, she started JSCE in 2016.
Jennifer has over 25 years experience in the fire protection and life safety industry. A graduate of WPI, she has her P.E. license in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia.
She specializes in fire, life safety, and accessibility code consulting.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, watching her children on the lacrosse and soccer fields, and spending time on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Principal
John Schoenrock, P.E.
John Schoenrock is a founding Principal of JSCE. Along with his business partner and wife Jennifer, he started JSCE in 2016.
John has over 25 years experience in the fire protection and life safety industry. John is a graduate of WPI and has his P.E. license in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia.
John specializes in fire alarm system design, suppression system design, special inspection services, and life safety systems commissioning.
John is heavily involved in the local youth lacrosse program as coach and board member and loves watching his kids play. If he is not working or coaching, you will find him on his boat.
